Alright heres the deal. AIM continuously disconnects me after 1 day of being online. Sometimes I’ll be able to stay on for a day and a few hours until it disconnects me, but usually I leave it on overnight and it disconnects me. I have a Linksys 4-port etherfast router Model BEFSR41 And Im running Windows XP Pro. It could possibly be my computer, its very unstable and I am thinking of reformatting, but is there any other cause for this? Thanks.
That sometimes happens to me after only like 30 min…
That used to happen to me, what router you got there Paintball_Dude? I had a D-Link and it could not handle internet traffic at all. anyways, can anyone help me on this?
i had the same problem. my router was defecitve so we got a new one. I found a solution tho until I got the new router. my aim woudl disconnenct like every 5 minutes and I figured out that in order for it to stay connected, you hit the reset button in the back. hold it in for like 10 seconds. then when I did that my aim woudltn stay on past a day and a few h0ours so I hit reset again for 10 seconds and it let me stay on for another whole day.
so if it disconnects you a lot then reset your router as soon as you sign on. if you leave your computer on then every 24 hours reset your router.
hope that makes sense.
The thing is that I have dial-up and it would not always fully disconnect me but it would say something like the connection is busy and sign me back on meanwhile my dialup connection is still fine…
