I started using AIM Pro a little while ago. I like it! One of the cool things I saw was that you could use your e-mail address as a screenname (So you don’t have to be coolguy2324 at work)…at least I thought so!
This feature is confirmed when I look at the AIM Pro press release:

When I pop open AIM Pro and try to sign up for a new screenname, it won’t let me use an e-mail address as a screenname; however, the help screen says it should still be possible:
