Ok, before you flame me, this is for my personal account. If it’s against the the rules to even ask, let me know or I’ll delete the post, but anyways:
I need to reload my PC, but I don’t know the password for one of my AIM accounts, and I most likely used an old work email account to activate it – I’ve requested passwords a few times from AOL, but never get the email. It’s not in my junk folder either.
The password is in AIM, I just don’t know what it is, since it’s been years since I installed it on this PC. I’m running AIM 5.5.3583
Thanks.
no way that I know of if emial doesnt work toooo bad ya gotta make a new screenname I guess unless theirs a program out there….sorry buddy that just not gonna work…. do you remember the email you registered it with…???

Nope, cuz I’ve requested the password a few times, with no luck.
It looks like AIM doesn’t store the password locally after 5.2, but I was able to pull the hash out. Now I just have to figure out how to decrypt it.
Insert the hash into the registry for the new install
Once you’re logged in, use the Update E-Mail Address function to either see the current e-mail connected to it and retrieve the password if you can, or change the e-mail address to one which you can then send the password to.
there used to be a program.. about 3-4 years ago.. but the whole privacy thing wont allow it anymore..
