As a suggestion, you should delete some of the older ones, that no one seems to like, or use. The vault is getting bigger, and the ugly ones are taking alot of time to go through.

Fury14, allowing users to upload their own avatars would put a tremendous amount of stress on the server as well as the bandwidth. Plus, the feature would get abused a lot by users uploading their images and using them at other sites. Would you host avatars for 10,000 different people that could appear 3+ times on one page?
To add to what magistyk just said, probably about 95% of the people who are registered at these forums aren’t active. These people might’ve just posted maybe 3 posts, then left. Before they left, though, they might’ve uploaded their own avatar, wasting space. This is why we have the whole “100 posts” thing, where you can ask to have an avatar uploaded for you after posting 100 posts.
