ParticipantDoes anyone have any favorite, P2P programs that they would compare to the ever growing, and ever popular KMD, and K++?

ParticipantI actually have WinMX on my system, but find it extremely hard to follow, and it gives me a hard time. The pause button is cancel? When songs are ‘canceled’ they do not seem to start back up again, which is a real bitch. I do not know if it is because I am on dial up or what… but I cannot stand it.

Participantyeah i have to agree, i’ve tried most of the file sharing programs out there (i’m in a college dorm, they tried to cut off as many of these as they can… so we went searching)… i can’t stand WinMX. it takes forever to find what you’re looking for, its a confusing interface, etc etc. i’d suggest Ares, or Blubster. Blubster only handles .mp3s though… other than that its fast (if you’re on a good connection, i cant get it to connect at home on dialup)

Well I understand what you mean, except for me it was KaZaa. Couldn’t stand it! I could find things, but never get them. Same went for other programs KaZaa-like that I tried.
It is very uncommon when I can’t find something on WinMX that I want. I agree that it might be a little confusing at first, but once you get the idea it is so easy to use! (Just like a lot of new programs when you first use them…)December 12, 2003 at 2:35 am #52499lilmonkeyguy

Participantumm… ya, where did I say that it doesn’t work? take the extra inititive to read posts fully.
As for the point of the topic… people are going to go looking for something now that KL is toast.
and I’ll add in.. as with WinMX, I havent been able to download anything from it. I started searching, found things I wanted, and started downloading them, but, when I try to search for more, I’m guessing the downloading blogged it from searching. So I decided to “cancel” them until I found everything I wanted, but I wasnt able to have them start back up again. Very annoying >.< (dial up)

ParticipantKazaa lite can be downloaded at http://www.oldversion.com. The problem relies on updates, there wont be any in the up and coming years. oh, and Sharman Networks is planning to change the protocol forcing all k-lite users to download their newest spyware filled kazaa. In my opinion Sharman is shooting themselves in the foot because about 80% of k-lite users are supernodes and we all know with no supernodes there is no fasttrack network.

ParticipantOr you can buy it for 30 bucks, and get spyware free…….
thus, point of finding a good replacement for KL.

MemberI am confused… this news is sure tht no more K-lite, but is fastrack network also closing? it cant be, bcos Kazaa is not the only one using this network, Imesh and few others use the ame network too, do a lil googling on Fastrack Client and you will realise tht KaZaa is not alone on tht… how can they shutdown the whole network???
