I recently upgraded to Y!Messy 6 Beta and am running Y!TunnelPro V1.3 Build 252. Everything’s great so far (knock on wood) except I can’t get Y!Tunnel’s yellow thingee across the top of my screen that says “Yahoo! Messenger is connected! Logging in …. ” to go away. I’m logged in Ymessy for sure .. pm’ing and everything.
Anyone know what’s up? THANKS!!*UPDATE* Thanks to the Y!Tunnel message board, I have fixed this problem. Just disable the Alert Bar in the Y!Tunnel prefs under “Enhancements”
if you are using yahoo messenger 6.0, it is recommended that you update to Y!TunnelPro 1.3 272. this build of ytunnel was released in response to the new messenger release and is far more compatible.
after checking out the YTunnel Pro Community Forum, it turns out that YTP 1.3 Build 272 has nothing to do with Messenger 6 Build 1643. They just happened 2 b released around the same time. In fact, the YTP technical folks warn you that they are not compatible and there will likely b lots of problems, you should 2 wait 4 the release of YTP 2.0, beta starting around 7/1/04.
I’m a lil slow. I have 2 questions. I had to redo my computor, and when I came back on line. everythng went to hell. although the new messenger looks good, I cant do wht I use to,1. how do I get it the old messenger back.. take it slow whn you explain it to me.. i’m special.lol…2. I had ytunnel pro.. now that has changed and my old keys doesnt work, do you have any suggestions where I can get a key, so as to take this ytunnel basic off.any help would be appericated…:D
3 steps….
1) Deinstall the new Messenger (Control Panel | Add/Remove Programs | Yahoo Messenger)
2) Delete the c:Program FilesYahoo!Messenger folder – the easiest way 2 do this is by opening My Computer, double-clicking the c: drive, double-clicking the Program Files, then Yahoo! folder. When your in the Yahoo! folder, click the Messenger Folder once 2 highlight it, then hit the DEL key
3) Reinstall the old Messenger from http://download.yahoo.com/dl/installs/ymsgr/ymsgr_1358.exe and your good 2 go!

o ya, the YTunnel Key…;)
if you actually paid 4 a key from YTunnel, they will replace it. Log a support request and enter YTunnel basic as the product, it won’t require a key.
It could b that your Windows Registry is corrupted. YTunnel has a simple program you can download and clean it, then your key might work. Download http://www.ytunnelpro.com/download/RegTool.exe, double click it, and try your old key again.
If you got a key from someone else, then your prolly outa luck.
YTunnel only charges $17 and you get all the upgrades with free tech support. Seems reasonable 2 me 4 such a good product.
By the way there is a final release of yahoo messenger. It’s not called beta, although they did rush pretty fast to release the final version so technically it can be seen as beta.
On a different note, I tried to use Ytunnel but it never even got to sign on for me. I use dialup and for some reason it never connects. Any suggestions?
Messenger 6 Build 1643 is an official release, not a beta. That is the current version on http://messenger.yahoo.com
I agree they rushed it thru and didn’t appear 2 fix many of the problems from the beta version. Hopefully they will release a new version soon with bug fixes.
When you say YTunnel never loaded, I’d need some more details. I assume you know that you start YTunnel 1st, then start Yahoo! Messenger.
There are a lot of configuration choices, it sounds like you need some changes in your Connections Setting.
