We’ve got a brand new BigBlueBall IRC Channel open and ready for chat, read this news article for more information. Thanks and post any comments or questions here!
I’ve also created a web-based version that makes it easy for anyone to use, with no software to install. Go to the BigBlueBall home page and click the IRC Chat link in the left-hand menu. Easy.
Here is the info:
server: rakka.irc.wsyntax.com
port: 6667
channel: bigblueball
I’m mainly posting this for those who can’t access chat via java due to firewall issues. I use a Web-based IRC page for it, located here: http://www.chat.net/cgi-bin/irc.cgi
Is anyone else having problems connecting to the chat server? I’ve tried twice in the past two days with no success on either the java chat, or in mIRC.
Hmm, I still get a connection timed out. I can connect to other IRC servers with no problems. But no luck with rakka.irc.wsyntax.com. Any idea what the problem could be?

OK I got in by doing as Indy does BUT had to put #bigblueball as the channel not just bigblueball.
I too seem to be able to access the chat room through http://www.chat.net/cgi-bin/irc.cgi but still cannot connect via mIRC or the Java Chat. I have connected fine in the past. Seems a bit odd.
Very strange. I have no problem whatsoever connecting through Trillian. P’rhaps you ought to give Trillian a try?
It’s working for me, both through Trillian and through our chat link on the home page. I’m in there twice, talking to myself! [:P]
