MemberI actually posted this in another thread, but I got some positive feedback from people, so I figured I’d share it with you all.
This is a quick little BBB Wallpaper I whipped up, nothing special, enjoy it if you want.
Click to view, then save it or right-click and hit Set As Background. It’s 1600×1200, so you can downsize it and fit it onto smaller desktops without losing quality.
Enjoy, any feedback is appreciated (good or bad)!

ParticipantI like it a lot better than the one I made, stupid globe wouldn’t resize correctly :p

KeymasterHmm I’ll see what I can do regarding a BBB wallpaper. I have a few ideas. hehe. I hope more people put up their creations!

KeymasterI like the colors and the concept, and I like the overall look. There is one thing that bugs me though, and it’s the juxtaposition of a flat, 2D image (the globe) in an otherwise 3D environment (i.e. the reflection implies depth). I’d almost be inclined to either 1) go with a different 3D image, not the logo (or maybe just placing the logo in a corner as a “badge”). This could be an actual photo or photoreal 3D rendering (earth from space, etc.) or 2) stick with a 2D image entirely.
I have to say, I installed WindowsBlinds and Javier’s Vista theme and really dig it. I like the new “Bliss” wallpaper too.

MemberI know my name is not Jeff as you only asked for his view ;0) But I actually preferred the first one you did.

ParticipantYeah, I am not Jeff either, but I like the first better. Don’t give it the outer glow. Now it looks like part of a watch in my opinion. Just do that bevel and embross thing to the globe.

MemberWell, no, I meant anyone could give feedback, but Jeff was the one who pointed out the fact that the globe wasn’t 3D like the rest of it, so I was asking him if it was any better than the first one I did.
Thanks for the feedback, though, Sarah. 🙂
Edit: You, too, Ryan! 😉

KeymasterSpike, I also like the first one better. 🙂
I have another quibble (of course). The green on the globe corresponds to terra firma, while the blue corresponds to water. I like your use of the blue and green, but I would reverse them, so that (in a sense) green = ground and blue = sky.

MemberI still think the original image (more green) looks better. The reflection looks really good as well.
The only suggestion I have is to move the actual site adress to the bottom right corner and make it much smaller (liike a badge?) as where it is atm makes it hard to read some icons. (If your icons are to the left as i would asume most people have).

KeymasterI whipped up these four wallpapers each size at 1600X1200. They should work fine on any screen. If there are any problems let me know. Well here they are:
These first two are “3d’ish”. One with the BBB title and description, and the other one without.
These other two are “2d’ish” and again one with the BBB title and description, and the other one without.
I hope you like. I also have them in png which I think is better quality which in turn makes the file size a lot bigger. I’ll be working on something more creative in the meantime.

ParticipantWow, those are great Miami, a lot different then the one you showed us yesterday in IRC. Nice work! Personally, I enjoy 3D better, heh.
