Is anyone else worried about VeryboredMale’s “obsession’? Perhaps we need a bigblueball intervention? :p and Thanks for the info Fancy.
Mine is still broke (boo hoo). Now it is starting to bug me, I work on in a little bit each day, I have even made a new yahoo account and it works fine. I am not ready to delete the messed up one because I get lots of my travel mail on it. Is there a way to convert everything over to new one without a big hassel? Future Luckyfrogcharmer AKA bbdoll.

Fear not.. you are not alone. I’ve been experiencing the identical issue for several days too. Sometimes refreshing the page corrects the problem, but most times it doesn’t. It’s gotta be another one of those yahoo server problems that defies explanation.
ska4259: have you tried Fancy’s workaround? Not a perfect fix, but then, this isn’t a perfect world.
Step 1. Sign into yahoo network using the username you are having issues with.
Step 2. View profile http://ca.profiles.yahoo.com/Yahoo!ID here if you are signed into the network you will see your edit profile page. Clear multiple words from your “Real Name” and then it will work properly.
It worked for me and “fancy” gave me the idea. Thanks

Ok, I came up with an idea yesterday.
In this Thread there seems to be 2 seperate issues.
One is that it’s sparatic that the profile page comes up,
OR
It never comes up at all.
I’m hoping that any of you having profile problems can help me confirm this.
My Idea is this. I ask everyone that I am having a problem viewing thier profile, if they have a 360 page on the SAME account, as I am viewing, so far they have all said yes.
I think there is either a setting in the 360, or a yahoo issue with 360, where if you do not pick that particular name as your default in 360, it messes up your profile page on another alias.
I have not totally pinned this down, because I need more information before I can’t figure it out, like is your default 360 the same as your yahoo chat ID, and is it your main account ID, etc.
I know lately there have been some issue where if you make your profile, or your pictures for Adults only, then you cannot share them on your 360 even if you change your settings to say share with everyone.
Hopefully some of you can tell me what your 360 settings are, or answer the questions written above, and we can all figure this out together.
On another issue, keep in mind that yahoo is try to make everything compatible with 360 and msn, and there are bound to be glitches, so they keep updating (which is of course when we can’t view or edit our profiles), then the next hour it works again.
It’s a very frustrating problem, but let’s think of it as a riddle we’re trying to figure out.

My profile was one that a forum member here could not view, and I have never used the 360 page. The ability to view my profile did mysteriously begin working for them again, not sure if that was temporary or if it still works. The 360 page connection is an interesting theory but I don’t think its going to give us an answer…at least not for everyone. However, there is still the gremlin theory to fall back on.

I’ve come across the blank profiles several times and it has nothing to do with the number of words in “real name” or 360… it’s just another yahoo quirk that comes and goes

I’m convinced it has something to do with the length of characters in the “Real Name” listing. Using ca.profiles.yahoo.com, I edited two of the profiles to shorten the names from a first, middle and last to just a first and last; voila— now they both work. I haven’t tried the other two yet.
Well, I’m not sure of the Name issue, because you can’t get any shorter then 4 characters (well you can but you know what I mean). I don’t think it’s a solution for everyone, and it could very well be that is actually a bunch of problems all having the same out come “A black profile”.
I know people have said that they went in and change their password, and it started working.
Then other’s said they deleted or added an alias, and boom, the profiles start working.
Maybe its just simply Editing the account in some way, which reloads the page.
But it could also be just a simple as the fact that Yahoo is updating the servers and the moment people are viewing profiles.
I dont’ think really there is an easy answer, and probably one of those problems that could have different answers for different users.
But again, thats why this forum is great. People can come in, and try everything they read about, and see if that answer helped them.
I would just like to say Savannah is my idol. I read her reply on her theory on the length of the name. So i said to myself…what the hek? Cant get any worse..right? So i tried it….it worked!! IT REALLY REALLY WORKED!! i shortened my real name response and now i can see my profile again…YAHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!! Thank you savannah!! 🙂
