Once apon a time, on a server far far away there was a Yahoo chatter named ¤Ç®Øø|KëФ who thought he was safe from most types of booters because he took the time to set up various types of protection programs like Y! Tunnel for Messenger, YaZaK & Y!mLite etc….
all was well for a long period of time until recently when some morons toting semi-automatic gas propelled booters came knocking at his door offering nothing but trouble …
this seems like the next generation of booters because they are not ‘Bombers’ nor ‘Proto’ … what it seems to be is a program which does not target the chat client but the server that the room is connected to … it disconnects the client from the server all together
…. i got booted off of Yahoo Messenger (usually when this happens i log into YaZaK or Y!mLite and the booters are powerless but this time no such luck) logged into Yazak … booted again … logged into Y!mLite … booted again !!! (and yes all my preferences are set to prevent EVERYTHING!!!)
Now, what i am here to ask of the kind members of BBB are as follows:
- Is anyone here “up to the time” and knows what the hell i am talking about ?
- Does anyone here know what type of booter (or program) these morons are using?
- Is there anyway of protecting yourself from this type of ‘Boot’? If so how?
They’re using a Broadcast DoS exploit in Yahoo chats (with sometimes up to 15k packets) to kick entire rooms…
Right now you have 2 choices…
1) Use Y!mLite with C-Mode/Gawd Mode.
2) Use YTK Pro (like Y!Tunnel, but better) with Flood Deflection (C-Mode/Gawd Mode)You will have to log in with a 2nd client with YMSG/HTTP to view chat text. It’s the only current way to become unbootable.

This has been happening for about 3 weeks now and it’s very annoying. I use Y!mlite and those morons only manage to kick the nickname from being able to write or read chat text, but my audio keeps on working just fine.

Yahoo attempted to patch this boot the other day but didn’t do a good job of it.
It effects every program that enters yahoo! chat and yahoo! need to get a hold of it before it gets worse.
Yahoo! patched all the YMSG servers except the one they really needed to patch.. ces1.vip.dcn.msg.yahoo.com
this server is very unreliable at the moment but is where the boots are coming from and needs to be sorted, perhaps they will sort it soon enough.
