Why do some of you people even give a damn?
For a buddy icon I find it quite annoying trying to find a damn icon to use. As for smilies come on they are stupid little icons, that you people make this huge deal out of.
Wouldn’t it be more wise to worry about technique feats such as the problems with Direct Connections, and getting spammed by porn bots than smilies?
Blocking IM spam (bots) is easy… just change your IM settings to only allow your buddies to IM you (block everyone execpt those on your buddy list) works great.
Buddy Icons and smileys are usually extension of ones personallity. You don’t like buddy icons don’t use them and you can even set your settings to not get your buddy’s icon.

But my question is Why does everyone make a big issue out of Buddy Icons and Smily faces, seriously.

Everyone has their own opinion on what to discuss on the forums. You have your’s they have their own. Nobody is forcing you to read the posts about the subjects, or even using them on your own AIM.
The Forum is here for anyone’s questions of anything that involve AIM, not just technical things.
