MemberI was wondering if there is any way that you can get around the +200 limit on your buddy list? Please help. I’m tired of deleting people everytime I wanna add someone.

ParticipantIt’s not possible because the list is stored on the AIM servers. You need to delete some buddy’s or get another screen name.
Oh, but if you have people blocked, you can remove them from your list and they’ll still be blocked.

MemberI dont think the registry key even has anything to do with it. I locked the key at 400 and it couldnt be changed and i loaded AIM and it still wouldnt let me put on more than 200. I talked to the girl who started this topic on AIM and apparently her friend got it from his friend so im trying to contact her friends friend to find out how to get more than 200 buddies.

MemberThere is NO WAY to change the limit set by AOL as to how many buddies you can have on your AIM buddy list. Please make use of BigBlueBall’s search feature (upper right corner there is a link) and you will find that this question has been answered more times than worth reading.

Membermaybe if you downloaded an older version of aim that still required the computer’s registry to tell it what the limit was to edit your buddy list, and use the newer version to im…

MemberIt dosen’t matter how old the aim version is it still would be on the aol server. Also I’m pretty sure no versions older then 4.7 can sign on any more.

MemberThe older versions of AIM stored your buddy list on your computer only, and not on AIM servers, so if you sign on with one of these versions, you can add more then 200. Only thing is they will only be on that computer, and when you first log in after installing an old version, your buddy list will be empty. You could alternatly use Trillian and have more the 200 buddies. (200 saved to AIM servers, and the rest on local computer only)

MemberYou could also download a program that has a cloner in it and just get another screen name.

MemberI know this post was from a while ago, but i think if you get the newset update of AIM (from link below) and have 2+ sn’s you can use the “Linked Screen Names thing”
