My wifes computer has Win98 with AIM 5.2.3292.
Problem is that when change Group name pointer to either horizontal or vertical, and shut the system down, it does not keep what I have set it at. When restart it keeps on coming up with it in the horizontal position when I want it to stay at vertical.Second question………… is there a patch or something (like I found for Yahoo Messenger) that I can use so I can minimize the window size to a smaller size than the minimum allowed default?

Bobi dont know what you mean with #1. But you can do #2 with reshack.

i dont know a way to get rid of that problem, its just natural. is it really that much of a problem?camster……….. you are correct, and is not that ……….. big of a problem, but thought that there may have been an easy fix for it. Also, I don’t see it doing that with the level I have on this system (5.1.3036), they all point down which is what I want.
Btw – how did you create that picture? Can think of way to do it, but not an easy way.

And if you don’t want to do modding but are willing to update to the AIM 5.5’s I suggest trying this patch. It will remove AIM Ad’s, allow resizing off the buddylist, etc: http://aftermath.dyndns.org:8888/~aimadhack/
How did Camster create his picture?
You press the “Print Screen” button next to F12 on your keyboard and it will automatically take a screenshot of your current screen and copy it to your clip board. He then can crop the picture and add the red marks using an image editing program.Thx Someguy for the info. I did update to AIM version 5.9, which appears to have fixed the Buddy pointer direction problem. I also thought that the picture that Camster created could have been done the way you described, but looked too clean to have been done that way………..
Concerning the patch site you mention as a way to fix the sizing problem……… went to site, but am having a little problem deciphering the info :o. It looks to me like there is a patch to just remove ads and also another program – 3.67 which is the modified AIM program that fixes my problem???? But then, I don’t see the download for the 3.67! Also, what is the 3.66 Light, and what about the program they mention (created 10-24-04) at the top?????

Bob5.2 doesnt keep your Group name pointers the way u want them. If you want them to appear the way you left them, you have to update to at least 5.5.3595
