MemberHello, I think Im having a problem with my Buddy Spy autoscan, it simply stops to autoscan after a while and just works again if I scan it manually.
Why is this happening?I have another doubt too. Someone I have scanned showed online in my Yahoo, ok so the person was really online as Buddy Spy detected, but the person kept showing as online even after logged off.
I could only be able to see that the person had logged off and was offline when I closed my Yahoo and logged on again. This is happening often. Why?January 12, 2006 at 1:54 pm #135987bbe7994
Membermaybe they wanted you to think that they had logged off, but they had just went invisible, is that a possibility?

MemberI think you didnt understand what Ive said, but maybe I didnt express myself well. As Ive said they show online even after logging off. Buddy Spy confirms they are offline, but they still show online in my Yahoo Messenger for ages and I can only see them off if I disconnect my YM.

MemberIt could be possible that they signed on thru yahoo chat and not messenger. If they did, then Buddy Spy will show them offline but they will show online on your messenger. For some reason, when you sign on thru chat on the website, you’ll show offline on Buddy Spy but the room name will come up, so dont check the box on Buddy Spy that says ” abort further scanning if user is offline”.

MemberAlso, keep in mind that Yahoo has been having many issues lately regarding incorrectly logging people off.
This is the reason why so many people are having offline message problems. Yahoo never truly logs off the user. So when you send them an offline yahoo sends it thru, and when you scan their name with buddy spy, yahoo still detects them as being online, because they haven’t been signed off the server yet.
This is not necessarily with the program Buddy Spy OR Yahoo Messenger. This is just a yahoo glitch that came about recently, maybe after they’ve updated their servers.
Also remember when yahoo wants to test an update to their server, they do not update the entire network. They only update certain servers in certain areas, and see what happens, as a test. This is why not everyone is having problems receiving offline messages, or problems with buddy spy, or even problems receiving PM’s.
I hope that made sense.

MemberHi… thanks for your help.
I may add though that the person who shows online in BuddySpy is really online and shows online in my Yahoo, but when logging off it only appears on Buddy Spy. The ID’s person remains stuck as online in my Messenger. The issue here was about why it shows online in my Yahoo Messenger Buddy List if the person has logged off. I thought Buddy Spy was interfering. Thank you.

MemberPlus I would like to know WHY Buddy Spy stops to do its autoscan for a while if it is setted up for that?

MemberAlthough I rarely use it, when I do it scans continuously but sometimes doesnt show true room results. It doesnt seem very reliable lately and Im not sure if it is Yahoo or the program itself. Either way, too much trouble to see if someone is online or in a room or not, most people arent worth the effort if you have to snoop. JMHO.
