Hi,
I’m a yahoo messenger user but for some reason, I can’t get it to work at my company’s premises. Anyone have any idea of what the problem here is?
Most work places have their firewalls set to block the ports needed to
connect Yahoo Messenger. They do this so their employees are doing
their job and not waisting their time chatting on the net.
And would there be any way around this?
Try meebo.com or ebuddy!
Hope it helps.
cheers buddy I think you got me sorted
Also you will find that its not just firewall software that stops you installing such programs or accessing them. They have special Business software which is installed on the machine which filters out alot of system functionality.
There are many web based instant messenger logins for AIM,Yahoo! and MSN
If they also don’t work it’s more than likely they are blocking it at the network level and not much you can do about it but work…at work.
:p
