Can’t select bold or not

This is very strange. On this laptop, AIM fonts always appear in bold. Pressing Ctrl+B has no effect on the font, but on my other computer, this doesn’t happen. Both computers are running the same version of AIM.

Can anyone explain this?

Sometimes it can be hard to tell whether or not text is actually bold on a laptop screen. If you open up Word or WordPad, can you bold/unbold font there?
