MemberMe and a friend regularly trade files (pictures etc) over YIM 6.
Untill tonight.
I tried sending him a story I had found and it said it couldn’t send it and would upload it to a File Transfer server.
I don’t want it to do this.
He can send me files just fine but I can’t send to him. He get’s the “accept” dialouge and all but it just doesn’t send.
Is there something wrong with my YIM or worse my account?

MemberI believe the window which comes up when the upload is completed includes a link. All you have to do is give the intended recipient this link, when they visit it, the file should download.

Memberok.
1. I can’t turn off my firewall.
2. This worked fine WITH the firewall up untill a few days ago. I would send, he would get the file directly.
3. I know about the link. I’d just rather perfer to send it direct and remove the hassle of the link. Plus more than once I have accidentaly closed the window without getting the link.
4. “Auto Accept” is unchecked. as is everything else. Everything is regular defaults for YIM.

MemberYou could always change the Port the File transfer is on, set it to 80 or 21 or something along the lines, then add a new rule to your firewall to allow Yserver.exe to communicate on this port.

MemberMy question is the file size. There is only a certain size file you can send with transfer until it goes to the file server. Have you tried other files, like one you have already sent? Otherwise it’s your firewall and whatever update you installed (or was automatically) installed for you has closed this port, or limited its use.
