Can’t View Webcams

Hi:

I have Yahoo Messenger 2.5.1. for Mac OS X.

Sometimes when I try to view someone else’s webcam, I get an error message that reads: “This user does not have his/her webcam online.”

I get this message even though I know the other person has their cam active. I get it whether they invite me to view their webcam or whether I try to invite myself.

Some webcams I have no problem seeing, but others routinely give me this message.

Anyone know what the problem is, or hwo to fix it?

The times this has happened to me have been when someone starts a webcam under a different Yahoo ID (like an alias).

I think you can only see the webcam if you click on the friend’s correct ID.

Or, alternatively, your friend can change his ID clicking on the Webcam File > Change ID and choosing the ID s/he is using
