1)how come when some people have the “cell phone” icon next to their screen name it will say “mobile, internet” when you waive the cursor over their screen name; however, others will say “mobile, unconfirmed internet”, and others will just say “mobile”. what are the differences?
2)does the “cell phone” icon disappear when you sign on from your home computer? one person has had that “cell phone” icon next to their sn for atleast 8 months. how is that possible? I never see him “online” from his home, hes 24/7 “online” on the cell icon.
3) if someone changes their sn, but doesnt turn off the cell phone icon on that sn, will the cell phone icon remain next to that sn for eternity? like if my sn is kingedward18, and I never sign on from home or my cell, will the cell icon still apear next to that sn?
4) do most people have a sn for home use, and a separate sn for cell?
5) if I see someones cell phone icon by their sn, that means they didnt block me right? LOL if they blocked me while theyre on their home computer, then I will still be blocked when they’re mobile, right?
1. It just means that the person confirmed there account. My AIM -> perferences -> confirm account. Its the same thing when your online, it will say unconfirmed or confirmed, depending if the person confirmed their account.
2. yes if u sign on to aim the cell phone will disappear. It just means that now people can send u test messages to u online, rather then to your cll phone.
3. yes if the person doesn’t turn off there cell phone from http://mymobile.aol.com they will still get messages to there phone.
4. no u can use the same SN.
5. yes they did not block u. yes if they blocked u, u wont be able to see them online or on there mobile.
the basic idea of having a mobile, isd that when your not online on your computer, people can send u text messages to your phone while your away from it.
Doesn’t the cell phone icon only appear if your on your cellphone at that current time, and doesn’t it go away when you sign on?
the cell phone icon stays by your name, when u sign off aim, and will go away when u sign onto AIM. U dont need to be on your phone for the icon to show up. my phone is off at time but it still shows the icon next to my name.
OR if you have middle_man or DeadAIM, you can display a Lock or Mobile icon, as well. So the person could be on their home PC and have a mobile icon. I’ve done it before.

hi, i have a similar problem, i used to text someone from my aim to their cellfone, and then like 3 days ago it stopped working and now the mobile icon doesnt show up next to their number, and its only that number..when i send a message it says error 602, can you help me? pleaseee
