MemberI was wondering if anyone else has found all the chat rooms full now (50’s 60’s anyhow. When captcha was first introduced there were few rooms and few people in them. Now it seems like bots found there way back in and have clogged them ALL. I haven’t been able to get to a room for a few days now. Any suggestions? I posted this in the wrong section first, sorry.

MemberYou’re correct. It’s a recent development since Yahoo did maintenance early in the week. Just have to be patient.

MemberSame thing has been happening to me. Haven’t been able to enter ANY chat rooms as it says they’re full. Has been going on for 2-3 days and is getting worse. Very annoying to say the least. Anyone know when they’ll have it fixed? Tried to use the log reports but never receive any kind of support or reply from yahoo.

MemberThank you bobmac. I was wondering if the folks here only used yahoo to im or pm and freecall. Yahoo chat has been a very nice place to meet people and listen to music and interesting conversations. The bots were very annoying but not intolerable. Now rooms are inaccessible. so what is the better alternative…. room with bot or no room? Yahoo messenger was the PREMIER chat for me. I’m not a geek, just a chatter and am glad that Yahoo seems to be looking out for us. The end result seems to be against chatters at the moment though. I can only hope that the folks that run Yahoo can do right for the few that do like to chat in the rooms.

ParticipantThere is an issue with the chat servers where id’s disconnected abruptly will become “stuck” on the servers and yahoo wont disconnect them they they reset the entire server, so until that they will take up one space in the chatroom.
Malicious users and programs like YmLite are sticking ids in chatrooms using this technique calling it “sticky ID”.
It’s annoying and the old servers did not have the same problem so hopefully yahoo will fix it within time.
