MemberOne thing to try is to go to program files, yahoo, messenger, and delete everything that is in your messenger “stored im” folder. That folder should be empty. Some boot programs send offline bootcode to be stored in that folder, and when you try to log back in, the offline bootcode screws your messenger up.
So clean out the stored im folder. That may help.

ParticipantBefore you even begin deleting, if you want to save your archives go to C:Program FilesYahoo!MessengerProfiles(your yahoo id)Archive and copy the one’s you want to another folder. Then make a search for all Yahoo! items and delete them. Once you’ve done all that reinstall Yahoo! Messenger and place the copies of the archive back into the same place you first copied them from. Hope this helps.

MemberI agree with Ghost, you might have some bootcodes stored in your archive. And of course saving them and putting them back might not help you. However, there is still a way. You can try to open your message archive using the archive reader, by this you dont need to log-in to Y!M to read your archive. Try to see if there is/are folder/s with username that is/are not familiar to you, and delete them.
