I have a Gateway and i add more ram and a burner then when i started it up i see the gateway on the screen and at the bottom it says press F1 for setup if i press that it goes to set up when i exit it has a flashing cursor in the upper coorner or if i don’t press the F1 it will show the bar filling in then go to the flashing cursor. Thank you very much for your help
Repair Windows. Insert your Windows XP CD into your computer and start it up. You want the “Recovery Console”. I think the command might be “repair” but I’m not certain. Google “Repair Windows XP” to get a more in-depth explanation of how to do this.
I tryed to do that but it won’t read the cd
Try too boot from cd(press del->bios->1st boot device->cdrom) and then run the recovery console from th cd.
Hope you will be happy with that.
shergill, not every BOIS works the same.
wesley, insert your Windows XP cd, and boot up your computer. Look for anything that says “Select Boot Device” or similar and press the key it says to. Then pick your CDROM crive ans boot to the CD.
