Could use your help with error

Hi … I’m recieving the following with AOL AIM

AOL instant messenger has encountered a problem and needs to close. WE are sorry for the inconvenience.

then it has a click here botton on the bottom
for more info. on the error then it says

Error signature
appname: aim.exe appver: 5.9.3702.0 modname: hyperbarss3.dll modver: 1.0.1.1 offset: 00001141

then it says click her for technicqal iunfo. so i click there then is says on the bottom of that page the following files will be inculded in this error report:
C:DOCUME~1OwnerLOCALS~1temp _appcompat.txt

Now this happens when trying to send instant message , Can someone assist please ? Thanks

I am getting the exact same error message, too, whenever I click IM. (I can still use chat without getting the error message.) What could this be that would be affecting AIM the same way? I have tried reinstalling and using sypbot and adware, as well as virus scans. Has anyone figured this one out yet? My error message started over a week ago.

I’ve been getting a lot of error messages. Even when trying to edit stuff in my perferences, or formatting my screen name, etc. I downloaded the latest AIM, and still have errors on that. I think AIM servers are having a problem would be my guess. All my friends have the same problem.

i had this problem a while back, i dont know how i fixed it. I think it stopped after i did the Windows Update thing. So try that and it may work.
