It depends on your motherboard and the socket type it uses. If you can get that information, someone might be able to help you more. 🙂
AMD Sempron CPU’s come in both the Socket 939 and Socket 754 Flavors. You’ll want to download cpu-z from http://www.cpuid.com and check what socket type you have. You should also be able to get your motherboard model and MFG from CPU-Z. With that information you should be able to decide on what new CPU you want.
