MemberIve had deadaim for quite awhile but recently whenever I do just about anything with or to aim, like logging on or off, or someone else logs on or off, ex., this message pops up Moduel C:Program FilesAIM95deadaim.ocm is missing. It is required to run AOL Instant Messenger My question was, how do I fix this problem? If you could help that would be great. Oh yeah, I tend to have blonde moments from time to time so if you didnt make it so confusing 😮 Thanks a bunch.

MemberTry reinstalling DeadAIM by going into the Control Panel–>Add/Remove Programs–>choose DeadAIM–>choose Add/Remove (or Change/Remove for Windows 2000/XP)–>when DeadAIM setup appears, choose Repair. If the message still pops up, then choose Remove instead, then install DeadAIM from scratch. Your IM logs won’t be removed after you uninstall DeadAIM.

MemberIf you have the original installer, reinstall it. If not, and you can’t find a way to get it:
Close AIM.
Go to C:Program FilesAIM95.
Open AIM.odl in notepad.
Delete the “load_ocm deadaim required”
Code:…
on_message(7, 270)
{
load_ocm deadaim required
load_ocm oscmain required
load_ocm miscui required
load_ocm stats required
load_ocm osclogin required
load_ocm buddyui required
load_ocm icbmui required
load_ocm locateui
load_ocm browse
load_ocm popup
load_ocm oscsrch
load_ocm chatui
load_ocm rvapps
load_ocm ticker
load_ocm oscmail
load_ocm alertui
load_ocm NTP
}
…Save it.
You will no longer be using deadaim and therefore the error won’t popup anymore.
