MemberHello, all!
I have a question about yahoo messenger. When I sign into messenger, it tells me that I have new mail, and an icon shows up in my system tray. When I click on the icon, or on the email shortcut in messenger internet explorer will open up, but the web page itself will not open. Internet explorer will say “connecting to site …..” on the bottom left corner, but after a few minutes the page stops trying to connect and I am left with an empty, white internet explorer page.
I then try to sign in to yahoo mail through the Yahoo home page. Everything works fine. It must be something wrong with the messenger shortcuts?
If anyone knows what is wrong, or can give me a tip, I would really appreciate it!
Love,
KellyJuly 29, 2006 at 4:49 pm #149359Jeff Hester
KeymasterMessenger 8 email links work good for me.
I tested it with regular email and the new beta email pages.

Here’s the dumb question of the day. 😮
I am using Yahoo 8 Beta. I’ve seen that they’re offering 8 now no more beta. DO I have to download it again, or do I just stick with what I downloaded afew weeks ago..(Told ya it was a dumb question!)

Chris, Chris, Chris !!
When will you learn ?
It is utter nonsense to say “all the bugs have gone”.All you do with such absurd statements is plummet your personal credibility down to zero, so people learn not to believe anything else you say either.
And again, just because YOU can’t find, or dont happen to experience, any bugs is of absolutely no help to Countrykel, or any of the other hundreds of people (myself defintely included) who DO.
If you were smart, you’d be able to emulate someone’s problem, so then tell them how to fix it.August 6, 2006 at 12:32 pm #149362Jeff Hester
KeymasterNever! Ever! lol j/k
I said that a while ago the only bugs I can find are just annoyances to me. For example, while in chat room, if you choose go to chat user and you have 5 IM aliases, it never remembers the last one you used before. It keeps selecting the first one in the list.August 6, 2006 at 4:24 pm #149365niq6566
MemberHey Kelly,
your problem might just be a yahoo issue that will resolve itself. A few days ago i had the problem that whenever i signed on yahoo messenger, i got an email notification even when i had not recieved any new mails at all. I tried out some things to fix it, but it just went back to normal after a few days without any further tries from my side.
If you experience this problem for a longer period of time tho, it’s probably an issue with your messenger. -
