MemberHas anyone else experienced this? I deleted two yahoo accounts that I rarely used back in March 2004. Although I have no desire to reactivate them, both ID’s are still listed as “not available”, even though the profiles no longer exist, and nobody else has them. I thought that after about 90 days deleted account ID’s become available again to the general public. Any ideas why they would still be unavailable after all this time? I tried sending an email inquiry to Yahoo, but only got one of their generic automated responses telling me “the feature I requested is not available at this time.” That was not my question. I want to know if a deleted yahoo ID should become available again after a certain period of time has elapsed.

ParticipantYahoo has no specific time period for recycling user accounts. It could take a few months or a few years before the ID is available again for public use. Sorry!

MemberYep I have never been able to recover a deleted main ID. The only way I have been able to do it is to make an alternate ID on the same account and make it the main ID, then delete the original, then to remake the old ID.

So just to let you know, It is possible.Appreciate the feedback, but to clarify, I don’t want my old accounts back.. I’m just curious why they remain unavailable after all this time, when I thought they were up for grabs again after 90 days. Since my original post I’ve heard from others about deleted ID’s being unavailable several years after the fact, so apparently mine aren’t being singled out.
