My friend is giving me his gateway computer (windows Xp) and its so screwed up that im going to format it heres the problem he doesnt have the cds for the computer so im thinking about using my dell cds would this work on the gateway? both computers are using windows xp
You’ll be violating the Microsoft EULA, but if you still have XP installed, and they are the same version (Both XP Home OEN I assume?), then you can read the key from the old computer (I use belarc – http://www.belarc.com) then you will be legal.
