I recently downloaded/installed Style XP on my computer and downloaded a desktop theme. When I went to install the certain theme, it said I needed to “Insert a certain disk”… Why is that? I have never really had problems when it came to changing my desktop, until now, that is… *confused again*
Could you give us more information on the error, more text, screenshot? What type of error, one from StyleXP or Windows?
If the StyleXP installer is using the Windows MSI Installer system, sometimes the MSI system will also try to complete installation/uninstallation, or configure some other program that also used the MSI system and didn’t complete or wasn’t configured for the user you are logged in as. If that’s the case, then if you have the disk, then just let it have it, otherwise pressing cancel might all you to continue with the installation. I’ve had issues with MSI asking for my Office 2003 disk on users other then the one that it was installed to do “configuration”, and I’ve also seen it happen after botched MSI installs.
I’ll get a screenshot and post it asap.. Guess it’d explain itself better then I can, LOL.
StyleXP replaces a system file, the error could be Windows File Protection kicking in.
But yes, a picture is worth a thousand words 🙂
