Memberno..not skins…….the little yellow note pad that comes up when someone on your buddy list puts up an away message…..that’s what I had different

MemberAre you sure it was an away message pic? Because AIM also shows pics next to people’s sns when their using a mobile phone, and that pic looks kind of like what you described. Of course, it probably isn’t that, in which case – did you have some kind of skin, expression, or add-on before that could’ve done that?

MemberIf you mean changing the yellow post-it note to something else, it is located in Bitmap 200
To change it just select the file on the tree to the left side of Reshacker that the post-it is in, go to Action -> Replace with other resource -> Open file with other resource (select the new pic you want to put there) -> Replace -> Compile -> Save

MemberI’m 100% sure it was an away message sign…..

I’m a bit confused on how you do this…where is bitmap 200??if you dont know, then chances are explaining it wont really help you much. its in a resource file (AimRes.dll) that AIM uses for quite a bit of stuff, like the size and format of the buddylist, most if not all of the dialog boxes and whatnot… you can edit (hack, mod, whatever you want to call it) it with a program called Resource Hacker. but if you dont have any idea what it is, i’d suggest not really messing with it.
did someone you know have access to your computer to modify AIM so it shows this “tan bullitan board w/a red pushpin”? check around to see if maybe that’s what happened?

MemberNo one had access to my computer 2 change it. I have my own and no one touches it. Also…when the different icon came i had just installed the Australian version for the expressions (i still had the yellow notes) then i wanted to go back to the american and when i went back they were there…also…the door for signing on and signing off was different too and the phone too…it was a whole different set of icons…

Memberhave you tried taking AIM completely off your comp and downloading it again?
January 5, 2004 at 1:48 am #51706t0rtle
MemberThat means you probably somehow got a set of all those pics that is different from the standard set. It likely came from the expression or something. This may actually be in prefs>aim expressions under display sets (that is, if you still have this set). I’m not sure if display set refers to the pics, but I think it does.

Memberdid you download the “smiley updater” to your computer? only thing i can think of that makes your away message icon and other buddylist icons look different. it also changes the way your smileys look in IMs, but only you can see them. i’ve seen the ninja smiley on my friend’s computer.

MemberYes the red pincusion away message comes from the SmileyUpdate posted on http://www.smileyspot.com. When you install SmileyUpdate there is a program group Icon to allow you to reinstall the updated images without having to reinstall the SmileyUpdate application. 🙂
