I love that song! I always turn the volume wayyyy up in my car when it comes on, and I start bobbing my head like a crazy person! I can’t help it, the song has a good beat and it gets me going!

ParticipantPerhaps you should buy the whole cd, because many of the games’s songs have awesome beats.
I can’t stand to listen to much rap, but Tupac has always been a favorite of mine. His lyrics are very inspirational to hear, as most of the things he spoke about, he lived.
It’s a hell of a lot better than garbage from 50 cent and the crew rapping about how much money they have, how many bitches they have or even how cops the shot (or want to shoot).

MemberAfter downloading Will Smith’s new CD, he is definitely my new favorite rapper. I was getting sick of all rappers anyways, they only talk about drugs, sex, etc. Will Smith not only sounds different, he can talk about relavent issues as well as fast beat songs. I especially like Tell Me Why. It is about 9/11 and violence and hate in the world in general.

MemberI have a question for you colin. Why do you complain against topics on drinking and ilegal, underage drinknig however you don’t mind talking about ilegal downloading? Double standards pherhaps?

MemberQwerty, I have another question for you. Where in my post did I say that I downloaded the CD illegally? I could have easily downloaded it off I-Tunes. You keep trying to pick fights with me, on the forums and chat, but I refuse to go to your level and argue over petty things.

MemberI hate what rap has turned into. I used to be able to “tolerate” the older stuff. Now the genre has grown into something that definitely isn’t music and is full of drug addicted/dealing, abusive, degrading, and freaking stupid idiots who dropped out of elementary school (it’s always been like this hasn’t it…!). I shudder to think about the time when I’m an adult w/ kids and I try to tune into an oldies station, only to hear “toxic” by Brittany Spears, or “Candyshop” by 50 Cent… it’s sickening

I made a quick assumpion that may or may have not been right (how did you get the CD btw?) I am sorry I jumped to that conclusion. However, i’m not “picking fights with you”, it’s called debating and constrcutive arguments. It’s not really petty either. Suppose you did download the cd ilegally, then I would be right and we would have a debate. Do you see? I’m not trying to attack you or anything, I just enjoy constructive argument/debate.
Once again, sorry. I did assume a fair bit their. But did you get the CD legitimitly?

MemberRap these days is definately unclean… I don’t like listening to that stuff. I don’t need to hear someone’s stupid unthought oppinion about how today should be. If we’re talking Rage Against the Machine, where he’s talking about how weapons kill, how politics should be changed positively, I can see a strong good opinion there, rather than drugs and violence, I can start to see a point there. I also don’t listen to rap because it usually has no strong rhythm, and don’t try to argue with me, but almost all rap does not use real drums. Sure, Hammer and all that other old school was good, or Rage Against the Machine and Zack de la Rocha, but these days it’s more like this:
Rap =
Retards
Attepmting
PoetryOr at least that’s my definition…

ParticipantNo kidding. If Rage is rap, then Aerosmith is country.
But really…I have to say that Graham, you are my hero for spelling Tupac like it should be (in my opinion) and not like a half retarded monkey.
Personally, I dig a lot of Tupacs stuff. Of course, I’m a chick (as much as I don’t like to admit it) so I dig Thats Just the Way It Is right out there and you’ll find that song on a lot of my playlists.
As for other rappers, I have to say that I like quite a bit of Eminem. He’s just one of those guys you can actually watch develop, and in my opinion, he’s just getting better with this newest album. Getting back to the music and getting away from just trying to piss people off and defend himself.
Of course…who can go wrong with some Run DMC. That’s just a give in there. Throw in some Ludacris maybe and some LLCoolJ because…well… Ladies Love Cool James, baby.
And I wouldn’t admit it to just anyone, but I do dig some Andre Nickatina…I stress -some-.
I’m really much more of a rock and alternative girl… *thoughtful nod* But…you know. Gotta be a well rounded person and you can almost always find at least one song you like in every genre, if you look hard enough.
