Memberi have dead aim 3.2.1, and i’m using aim 5.1. i want to download the new version of aim, but i’m not sure it’s fully compatible with the version of dead aim i have. i’ve heard from friends that it doesn’t, but if you know anything about the compatibility, let me know.

ParticipantActually I am using both and yeah it pretty much does work hand in hand. Try it, like it, download a free security encryption for 5.2.xxxx as well =)

MemberThe only program thats not fully compatible with the newer aim versions is Aim+. They are currently working on a solution. All versions of Deadaim currently work with All versions of aim.

MemberI currently use Deadaim 4.0 with Aim 5.2 and the only problem that I noticed after upgrading to 5.2 is that if you double click the system tray icon to open the buddy list, the ad is over some of your buddies, and then disappears. It’s not that much of a deal for all the wonderful features Deadaim 4.0 gives you. (Message me on AOL for more info.)

Memberanother thing though, can i just install 5.2 on top of the dead aim or do i have to uninstall dead aim and then re-install it afterwards? and another thing–
what happens to all my logs afterwards?July 17, 2003 at 9:44 pm #93235.
ParticipantI can reinstall AIM 5.2 on top of your old version then use the repair function in DeadAIM to restore everything right. Its just that sometimes updating AIM will replace all the files back to their original coding whereas DeadAIM can just rewrite back what it needs to work again.

MemberI believe that dead aim keeps ur log info seperate from aim so if u reinstall aim you probably wont lose your log info.
