I created an MSN account about four years ago, but I haven’t used it in a very long time. When I tried to log in the other day, I was told that the password was invalid. I used the password recovery feature, but it said that it did not recognize my account.
Does MSN delete inactive accounts?
I believe that you have to log in at least once every 90 days from creation of an account, otherwise it will be deleted. In your case you’ll have to create a new account.
They do, but I’ve never figured out exactly how long it takes. I’ve heard 90 days if the account has not been used, but I know for a fact I’ve accessed an account after way longer than that. (But in those cases I did have the password.)
I just tried to access a really old account that I had forgotten the password to. I was unable to use password recovery as it told me the email as invalid. It’s been probably 2 years (at least) since the last time I accessed that one. So apparently at some point they do really delete them.
If you’ve not used it in several years, it’s probably easier to just start a new account.
