has anybody ever seen this before?
WiseMain Could not extract Wise0132.dll to ‘%s’, CRC does not match. File size expected=%ld, size returned=%ld. C:~GLC1034.TMP GLC Could not initialize installation. if you have and you know what it is about…can you please let me know?it is in reference to the installation for yahoo messenger ver 7…..i have posted before and have recieved no help…..thanks
Are you using the installation from the official yahoo messenger site? and have you tried to install it many times?
no …actually i have saved the program that i have saved on my desktop…rather than running it from the download….i have also deleted all my yahoo folders in the registry and also on my computer…i have no idea what this means….i have posted before but havent come up with a solution…currently i am running mess ver 5.6 on my comp….i prefer the 6 or 7 series and i am frustrated as hell…am i missing a dll or what am i doing wrong?
Your file is corrupted. The CRC is a protocol for error checking. It creates a numeric based on the data packet, and then compares it with the destinations calculation. If they match, then the transmission of data was accurate. If not, then it failed, and the protocol tells the computer(s) to retry. Either way, the file is messed up.
Second, wise0132 is the Wise Installer program. It is likely that this is the corrupted part of the file.you may need an updated version of windows installer.
tin…thanks for the info…i checked and i am running windows installer 3.1 v 1….however i did follow your advice and i downloaded the installer 3.1 v 2…still nothing…i then tried to reinstall yahoo messenger and i got the same result…
There is actually three versions on 3.1 installer (typical microsoft logics)
Make sure you have 3.1 rev2
When you went to install the package was it the web installer suite or the full package?
dermot…i have 3.1 ver 2…..web installer suite i believe….. 3.1.4000.2435…that is the version of the file on the download page….
I believe that is the correct windows installer,3.1.4000.2435 is definitely 3.1 v2
I’m not really familiar with WiseMain to be honest,but if other programs are installing ok then I doubt its your windows installer thats the issue,either way you reinstalling win installer wont effect your computer.I would probably try uninstall wisemain if its possible to uninstall it from add/remove programs,wisemain uses MSI(windows installer)so if the Wise0132.dll is the corrupted part then it would obviously effect the installation of yahoo messenger,I doubt very much the file you downloaded from the yahoo messenger website is the issue.
So try uninstall wise,reboot,then try install yahoo messenger again(with wise uninstalled you will be using just windows installer on its own).If that doenst work,then you’ll probably have to do a system restore unfortunately.
