It would be very helpful to have alternate user names checked for login status if the first one is not online. My application is a moderator group that I would like to add a link to a website that gave an icon if ANY moderator in the group was available.
I am not sure if I will support this natively in OSI. I don’t know how the sign-up for it should look like.
However, you can do almost this in a couple of ways.
The easiest is of course to list all the moderators with their online status indicators next to them.
A more complicated way would be to make use of the custom icons feature in OSI. Instead of showing the offline icon, simply point to another online status indicator.
You could also write a PHP script that does something like this.
Consider it done, i like playing with PHP 🙂
Nevermind, it is probably better and easier to write a PHP script that uses OSI to detect status. Dennis K seems to volunteer for this. 🙂
