First Yahoo!... Now MySpace is down

Yes, you read right. (http://www.myspace.com is not working)

Okay, i don’t use MySpace nor do i own an account. But i thought MySpace deserves it’s own thread since it is currently down too. I’m guessing no one can access MySpace right now, just like no one can access Yahoo! Messenger.

Ha, i don’t think there is a conspiracy, just some very bad server issues? What are your thoughts on the MySpace server going down too?

I love Myspace and I hate it.
Since its surge of popularity it takes forever to navigate.

If we lose facebook.com here, we know something is up.

Myspace loads…. but you get this message:

Sorry! an unexpected error has occurred.

This error has been forwarded to MySpace’s technical group.

It’s not back up.

When you try to login it says…

Got to love the fact they jokingly said they would be back in 1 hour. Two hours later they get the site back up saying basically you can look, but you can’t use anything.

Ah, i just went to the main site and saw it was up, but since i don’t have an actual login id, i didn’t know it still gave this error… So i assumed it was up, sorry!

well… the funny thing is that i tried loading myspace in a separate tab, then glancing back to the new posts list and seeing this topic.

and i’m still waiting for myspace to load, several minutes later. I dont think it’s up. which sucks, because i know i have some messages waiting for me (i’ve been gone all weekend without any internet, so…)

edit: check this blog for the myspace status… seems no one knows what’s going on.

Back down again. Not sure where their servers are, but Santa Monica is their HQ and another site from the general area I visit regularly is having severe issues as wells so may be the annual brown outs doing major havoc. Why do companies set up shop in locations that lose power each summer for days at a time or have to be evacuated every hurricane season?

To make us want it so bad, that when they come back it’s like a refreash. Stupid companies who mess with us..
