Try opening 4000-6000 ..
Why do you insist on opening this many ports? Am I the only one that understands how big of a security hole you are opening on your network?
Only businesses need to worry about security.. Personal computers do not get hacked or whatever you are assuming. AIM does not use just one port .. so I am telling users to open 4000-6000 on their Linksys routers because my friend Liz’s computer did not work with just 5190. And 4000-6000 worked.
i’ve been fighting this problem for months since AIM issued an update. It’s beyond irritating.
The only solution I’ve had to date is to use GAIM instead (gaim.sourceforge.net)
Seems to correct the problem. The GAIM client is aight… nothing special. But if you hate the disconnect problem more, this does seem to fix it (at least until AIM or Linksys finally comes through with a better solution).

Then I will put it to you plain and simple, you are foolish. If you think only businesses need security, I can only hope you are never in change of any network outside your own. Sorry, but you are completely wrong, everyone should worry about security.
I never had this problem untill I started using a static IP address, which I created in order to use eMule. : Tried the suggested info (I have a Linksys router) and still no luck. 🙁 Any new news or suggestions for this issue?
