MemberEven after following the instructions to change my font settings, they frequently return to the default Arial 10 point settings, while using chat rooms and instant messages. I’d be interested in hearing from anyone having the same problem and hearing about any possible solutions to it.

MemberOK i know this might sound *duh* but, Are you clicking Apply and then OK? If so then another question, Are you signed into Yahoo as your main ID? My other half (Jon) was signing in on Messenger as one of his other Profiles he has on his ID and the same thing was happening. I sign in under my main ID and just use the other Profiles and it works fine. So he changed and signs in as his Main ID now and Ta Da!!!!!!!! Works!

MemberThanks for your reply, Snugle. The problem is occuring while using my main ID and I’ve remembered to click on “apply” once my font settings have been changed.

Participantmoon_6851 – How exactly are you going about to change your font settings?
There are two options. In a conversation –
‘Format > Font’ (or simply by using the nifty font list provided beside the smiley button)
‘Format > Default Font and Color…’If you’re aiming at choosing an all-round maintained global font – be sure to be using the ‘Default Font and Color…’ option rather than the other alternatives. This will ensure a maintained universal font unlike the others that will only affect that specific conversation.

MemberWind they are meaning from Yahoo! Messenger. From messenger you click Login and then Preferences then Appearance then the button under *Default colors for composing messages* then you choose what you want and click OK that box closes then click apply on the Preferences box and then OK and that box closes and your message and chatroom Fonts are set and should be what you see in messages you send and be what your ID uses in chat from that point on.

MemberSnugle……….I changed the font settings after reading your latest post by going in through the “default colors for composing messages” option and making the font setting changes from there. That was one method I hadn’t tried previously. It seems to be working for now. We’ll see how it goes. Thanks for the idea.
