MemberAM I going crazy ?
(Please, don’t answer THAT!)https://bigblueball.com/forums/forum-support/ shows 2 sub-forums available:
Suggestion Box (last post = Spike 25 Jan)
and: Bug Reports (last post = Jeff 27 Jan)Fine… if I click Suggestion Box, I go there and see Spike’s post at the top.
BUT.. if instead I click Bug Reports I see NO SIGN of Jeff’s 27 Jan !!?!
Jeff’s post appears to be in “Squashed Bugs”, but how does one access THAT sub-forum through the normal menu hierarchy, rather than clicking that “last post” link itself ?
It appears to be a Sub-Forum below Bug Reports, but I see no mention of any Sub-Forum of any sort on the Bug Reports page.LATER: ARGHHHHH!!! Now I’ve posted this, so the Last Post in Bug Reports is MINE ! Doh 🙁 🙁
Oh well, you’ll just have to believe me 😉
Basic summary: how ever to get to Squashed Bugs ?January 29, 2006 at 12:15 am #137318Spike
MemberI think Squashed Bugs was an old forum we used to have that is no longer used, but it strikes me as very odd that you would see a “latest post” by Jeff in this forum.
On a related note, often I will see the last poster of the most recent announcements thread to be Jeff (with a new post icon), but then I click on it, only to find that the latest poster wasn’t Jeff, and there are no new posts.

KeymasterIan, you should be able to access the forum here: https://bigblueball.com/forums/squashed-bugs/
It’s not a private forum, but it’s not “active.” This means that it’s not visible through the forum index, but you can still get to topics in there. I did this mainly because I figured most people wouldn’t care much about the bugs that have already been fixed.
Check it and see if you’re able to access it, and let me know if you think it ought to be made more visible.

MemberAha, so that’s where all those threads go!
I really don’t think it matters much if it’s viewable or not…Actually, on second thought, maybe since they’re fixed, make it viewable but locked, so people can see that they’ve been fixed, but not post.

MemberYes Jeff, I can access it easily, but only via that link you gave (OR wait till I see another “Last Post” from there, then pounce while the doorway is ajar 😉 )
Spike, I agree, I don’t think it’s of huge importance whether it’s visible or not, but at least it should be TOTALLY one way or the other.
I like the idea of having access there, to check up on resolution of past problems…. but then again there seem just sooooo many forums, sub-forums, etc all falling over each other that perhaps if one “surplus” one could be removed from sight that would be a good step !?
Currently it would appear to be completely inaccessible/invisible from any menu, YET as I first reported, sometimes (? well, once anyway, that I noticed!) a “Last Post” in Squashed Bugs appears as the Last Post in the parent forum, which is VERY confusing, seeing a Last Post in a sub-forum that allegedly doesn’t exist !
(Hmmm, it’s also confusing being in Squashed, using the menu to go up a level, then finding no way to go back DOWN again…. but.. I guess that’s the price for sneaking around in “phantom” areas).
