Last night when I signed off, my friends’ list was normal… i.e. the Yahoo I.D.’s showed. When I signed on this morning… the I.D.’s had all CHANGED to nicknames… some of which I don’t recognize. If I run my cursor over the nicknames I can see the e-mail addy and therefore the Yahoo. I.D. But that’s not the point. Point is.. how did the list change without my knowledge and consent? Anyone?

Any chance someone signed onto your account and changed things? In your appearance preferences do you have ‘Always show ID of friends’ clicked or the use nicknames? I have no idea what other advice to give ya…maybe it’s a quirk or maybe someone will have other suggestions.
It just sounds like you may have synched your addressbook with your messenger. If you have short nicknames to write e-mails…sometimes these show up on messenger if you have that person’s Yahoo ID in the info. It also could just be a matter of the server you were on. Sometimes my nicknames don’t show up and all of a sudden they do. Perhaps a refresh rate? Anyway, people are no longer able to add secretly nor delete from other’s accounts 🙁 Not even Y zak works anymore! It’s probably just a server thing or something on Yahoo!’s side. Maybe look at the profiles of these people??? But use another PC…a public one perhaps in case they have some sort of nasty thing on the sites (that;s what I’d do!) Good Luck.
