Hi, I’m screwed. 🙂
I’ve been getting weird pixels on my screen for the last weeks, after some research I discovered that my graphics card fan is not working at all. This probably causes the card to overheat and mess up.
And yes, its on an AGPX8 port…
I obviously need some way to cool my card because right now I cant afford buying a new one. Any tips? Can the fan be replaced?
You can buy a little PCI slot fan to put right below your video card. I don’t know how much it would help if there isn’t a heatsink or a fan helping, but they aren’t that expensive (mine was about $5 after shipping from Newegg), and it could be worth a try.
I believe that Thermaltake sells OEM-style GF4 Ti fans. You could grab one of those. DO NOT buy the copper cooler. I and 3 friends have all had problems with the fan on that…not to mention that the air turbulence is terrible, and most of the air shoots back out the top. I put my OEM HSF back on and it’s running cooler and the fan isn’t acting up 🙂
Double posting incase you already checked this thread. I want to make sure you see this.
It took me some heavy searching this whole time, but I FINALLY found them.
