KeymasterGoogle is beta testing yet another new service called Google Maps. I really like the interface. It’s much better than Yahoo! Maps, and you can pan very quickly. Looks like another winner.

KeymasterI tried putting in my home address and heading towards my University and it didn’t work. It says it could not understand the locations though that’s how I type it for other maps. I guess they still need to put in more information in their database or something for their final release. It does look good though, I like the interactivity of the map. Google is taking over.

MemberIt couldn’t find my town, and it’s not really that small of a town. Once they get it all worked out, it’ll own though.

KeymasterThat’s weird… I found it easily using this: http://maps.google.com/maps?q=austin%2C%20TX
And here is my town.

MemberNo, I live in Cedar Park, right outside of Austin.

ParticipantI found my street easily. And It’s a very small, unknown town. Even people in my county haven’t heard of it.

ParticipantMy address and town of a population of >500 was even found. Mapquest has no record of it. Two thumbs way up for Google!
Can’t say I enjoy waiting for the images to load on dial up, but it’s still pretty damn neat!

Memberrelax, its just in beta stage. Moreover its interface is much more friendlier than Yahoo Maps. I am sure it will destroy Yahoo Maps soon 😉

MemberI could find my town, and even my street. Pretty cool, and the interface is nice too.

MemberI think this is going to be a huge succsess, becuase people are used to typing in ‘www.google.com’ to search for stuff. It just makes it easier for directions now too.

ParticipantI typed in my old address and my new address, which are both in very small towns… found them both. Also it gave pretty good directions to get between the two. IMO it’s much easier to use than Yahoo… Go Google!

KeymasterThis is extremely cool. If you’ve ever used Craigslist, you know it’s an exhaustive but simple-to-use text-based classified ad system that is extremely popular in most US metropolitan areas.
And we all know Google Maps is cool (at least in the US and much of Canada).
But what would you get if you combined the two? Something uber-cool like this. I love technology.
