Hi,
I’ve been trying for some months to roll all my messengers into GAIM. I use AOL, Sametime (for work), Yahoo, GoogleTalk. AOL and Sametime – no problem. GoogleTalk (Jabber) and Yahoo…no connection. Here is where it gets weird. The real GoogleTalk and yahoo clients connect just fine. I am following the tutorals for setup, I have my global http proxy set…but for some reason it won’t find an open port and connect for either of these clients. Can someone help? Is there a way to find out what open port the real clients are connecting on? Thanks!
If anyone knonws anyway to find the open port or another port to try for these services, let me please let me know!
Start>Run>CMD
When command prompt opens type
NetStat
Press enter and it will show you which ports of which machines are you connected to. look for anything that has yahoo in the foreign address
Yahoo isn’t listed in either of the addresses. i think it is because we use an http proxy server, but I’m not sure
Oh sorry missed that http proxy part. So yeah they wont show up on netstat since all connections are made to the proxy.
A google search might help you in configuring Gaim to use gtalk account on HTTP Proxy.
