ParticipantNo, GoogleTalk 1.0 is done, all complete, nothing more is going to be added. Haha. =P
I think we need to just wait and see.

ParticipantI seem to recall AIM being rather rough stuff at the beginning of it’s life… actually i rather hope GT doesn’t add more features. Maybe a few little things, but I really hope it doesn’t turn into a bloated piece of nothing like AIM has. A few bare bones functions would be nice, like maybe those you mentioned, but once they start adding too much then… then it will suck just as much as AIM.

ParticipantI agree with Tigerblade. I like my instant messenger simple. I think the only feature it needs is a file transfer, and that’s it. Thanks for making me realize that, ys8er. 🙂

MemberI just hope google talk does not add too many features in future.
Keep it simple and fast with no ads, Just like the google.com main page.
Adding simleys/avatars/audibles/extra-fonts will just make it bulky. But what I would like to see in GTalk is:
– File sharing.
– Reverse integration of Gmail with GTalk.
– Voice Conferencing.
– Offline messages.August 25, 2005 at 4:06 pm #128446Jeff Hester
KeymasterForbes magazine speculates that Google Talk is really a step towards providing a paid PC-to-phone VoIP service. Check out the article.

Wow, just another thing that a computer will turn into in the near future. They can already be our stereos, our televisions, our information centers, we can do so much with them already, like bank online, and shop online, make reservations, what do you think somebody would say to you if 15 years ago you told them that in the future you willbe able to do these things online? They probably wouldn’t believe you.But this would be really neat. After it’s initial release, I’d probably get it, becuase I spend so much time on my computer, anyway. Sounds very cool, thanks for sharing, Jeff!
