Would anyone else agree that The English Patient is the best movie of the recent past or do you have different ideas?

The last movie that had my heart racing was Mel Gibson’s Apocalypto. Beautifully filmed, a simple but effective storyline, and great music. But some scenes are quite bloody; not suitable for kids below 14, in my opinion.
