ParticipantHere I found this in MSN Messenger help:
About handwriting
You can personalize your conversations in MSN Messenger by using the Handwrite feature. From the Handwrite
tab in the conversation window (The window you use to send and receive instant messages.) , you can use your mouse to draw doodles and to handwrite messages. You can also select the shape of the stylus and eraser, as well as the color of the ink to use to express your unique message. If you are unable to use the Handwrite tab in the conversation window, you will need to install the following software to activate it:
- Microsoft Windows XP or Windows 2000 (with Service Pack 3 or later). If you are not sure your operating system is up-to-date, go to the Microsoft Windows Update website.
- Microsoft Windows Journal Viewer 1.5. Download now.
- Security Update for Windows Journal Viewer. Download now.
Notes
- To help your handwriting , plotting, and drawing accuracy, click the stationery button
to place a grid over the message area. - To turn off the Handwrite feature, on the Tools menu, click Options. In the left pane, click Messages. Under Handwriting, clear the Show the Handwrite tab in conversation windows check box.
Also I would like to make sure this is clear:
To turn off the Handwrite feature, on the Tools menu, click Options. In the left pane, click Messages. Under Handwriting, clear the Show the Handwrite tab in conversation windows check box.
Please check that to make sure it is not turned off, even after you install the required software.

Memberok, I have Windows ME, will that be compatible with the handwriting tool?

ParticipantAs it states, it requires Windows XP or Windows 2000, so that would be a no to Windows ME. Time to upgrade perhaps? ME is very uncouth. 😉
