MemberSo, ok, i dont have AOL for my main internet service in my home, we have cavalier service, so my question is, Do the people who have their primary service as AOL, do they have the same priveleges and capabilities as someone like me who only just downloaded AIM, but doesnt have, like i said, AOL as my provider. I’m aware of the fact that AIM users can’t view AOL profiles of AOL users, only AIM profiles, so what do the people who use instant messaging thru AOL get or have that people that just d/l AIM and potentially have a different internet provider??? The aol subscribers that actually have aol dont have any versions or capabilities that allow for profile tracking WITHOUT A LINK do they, cause im aware that the script in ALL AIM FORMS does not support a profile tracker, therefore if desired, one would have to be put in thru imchaos or something, but would it be the same case for actual AOL users who chat?
i guess in short im saying, does it matter whether u have AIM or AOL(although aol runs both of them) without a link, no profile can be tracked or counted….NOW IM NOT ASKING THIS QUESTION THAT IS MOST POPULAR ON HERE, IM ASKING IF THEY HAVE CAPABILITIES US AIM USERS DONT

Participant…as far as I know, no. I don’t personally have AOL, and never have. Maybe someone here does have AOL and can answer better than that, but I don’t think AOL users have any special priveleges.
Certainly not tracking. Profile views cannot be tracked without a link. Cannot. AOL user, free AIM user, nobody.
I think the main differences between AOL and AIM are just the interface. The design of the program that you’re using. I think (but obviously I’m not sure) that AOL users have some sort of thing built into the AOL web interface thing instead of a separate program?

Well…AOL is now free. You do not need to have internet from them, but can still create an AOL screenname and use their software. You can have your own personal @aol.com addy, use thier software, etc.
