MemberOk, I’ve pretty much read through the entire forum, and the only answer that I’ve really come across is “wait and see”.
I am aware that Yahoo has recently changed around some servers, etc. but as of 6pm last night I am no longer able to use Yahoo messenger.
This is NOT a locked account, or a banned nick name, this is Yahoo messenger on 3 different computers, and trying to log in with 10 or so different names. I even made up an ID and password to see if yahoo would send an error back that the user name or password were incorrect, please try again. But I get nothing!!!
I have installed, uninstalled, I can go into java chat and talk, I can sign into my email account, I have done scans for virus, trojans, adware, spyware.
Believe me, I’ve done it all. I am on a cable modem and have 3 computers networked together. I’ve had this same set up for years.
Now my question is… If I am unable to log on to messenger on Any of the 3 computers, does this mean that either yahoo banned my IP, or my ISP banned yahoo??? (highly doubtful as it’s comcast).
Anyway, does anyone have any other ideas? I mean besides wait and see what happens?
It has nothing to do with locked accounts, because new ones have been made… The request to connect to messenger is either not being sent to yahoo, or it’s being blocked, or its never being received by me. And yes I’ve opened and closed my antivirus software. lol I’m just trying to cover all the basis, and answer questions anyone would have.
I have also done a “system restore” to last week, and still nothing.
Any insight would be greatly appreciated.
P.S. And for those who are asking?? No I didn’t do anything illegal for yahoo to ban me, actually all I can think of really is that I said “NO” to the wrong person.

MemberJust a thought,
but, open up your registry, go to
HKEY_CURRENT_USERSOFTWAREYahooPager
And check the ConnServer
make sure it is set to scs.msg.yahoo.com
Check the hostname,
hostname=scs.msg.yahoo.com
Check Port,
Port=5050
Check IPlookup,
IPLookup=216.136.173.161,216.136.173.162
Also, create a new dword value of SendPortCheck
w/ a value of 1
If that doesnt work, post how you networked the three computers, if it was a router/hub.
What kind of router/hub
etc. etc.
From your post, saying you did a system restore, I am assuming that you are using Windows XP? -
