Home › Forums › Archives › Instant Messaging › Windows Live Messenger Support › HELP – Someone Stole my Laptop – Then Logged in a me on MSN
My car got broken into 2 days ago and my laptop was stolen.
In the off chance I could get a hold of whoever got their hands on it, I created a second MSN account and added myself to the contact list so I could see if they turned on the pc and were connected to an internet connection.
Believe it or not, about 10 minutes ago my laptop account logged in – since I have MSN to automatically start and loging when it boots.
now …. is there anyway to get the IP from where it logged in from? and do a trace that way? do you think there’s anyway Microsoft would help / have the address on their server?
I’ve already filed a police report – if anyone knows who I can call – or get the police to call for information, that would be greatly appreciated! any help at all would be great!
First, I would go to http://www.passport.com and change your password.
I don’t think your going to get anywhere. No one is going to be willing to shovel out information that you are requesting, and even if they did, the ISP definitely wouldn’t give out any information regarding who the IP belonged to.
As pisspoor as it sounds, I think you’re SOL 🙁
