MemberYou can “hide” it. (Hiding it means it will disappear from the screen, and can be retrieved by clicking on the little AIM icon in the taskbar) Go to Preferences>Buddy List and check the box that says hide taskbar button when Buddy List is minimized. Now, you can choose to hide either just your buddy list or just your away window, or both. If you want to hide both, have both open and minimize the buddy list (both will disappear). If you have both open and minimize the away message, only it will disappear.
Hope this helps 🙂

Memberevne tho this dosen’t matter…
if u want to minimize just the buddy list… u’ll have to keep the “sign off when Buddy List is closed” option unchecked. then u close the buddy list and the away msg will stay open
but if you ahve the aim beta, then u can (have to) minimize each one at a time.January 18, 2004 at 9:38 pm #51004goodoldlofgren

MemberThis is driving me crazy! I just installed AIM 5.5 and can’t seem to figure out how to minimize the away message and my AIM at the same time. I have the Hide taskbar button checked and it still doesn’t work. I hate having to click both separately to minimize them. I tried everything. Can some please help me? Thanks!

MemberI notice that the user who provided a link to AIMhider had it go to her geocities site. If you want the most updated programs and info on errors go to the official site of AIM hider: http://www.team-fx.com/soft/
I will make a tutorial when I get back to my house that talks about how to use the program, what it does, and what problems it can cause. I will also provide one for Clone Patch as it is very buggy.
